We implore your help to grasp the profound truth he came to unravel before us and to be able to live our lives inspired by His constant presence with us. Psalm 86:1-8

Cel.:- Our God will come to save us, Immanuel is His name.
(Psalm is recited in two groups)

Incline your ear, O Lord, and answer me,
for I am poor and needy.

Preserve my life, for I am godly;
save your servant who trusts in You.

You are my God;
be gracious to me, O Lord,
for to You do I cry all the day.

Gladden the soul of your servant,
for to You, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.

For You, O Lord, are good and forgiving,
abounding in steadfast love to all who call on You.

Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer;
hearken to my cry of supplication.

In the day of my trouble I call on You,
for You answer me.

There is none like You among the gods, O Lord,
nor are there any works like your.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit

As it was in the beginning is now
and every shall be world without end. Amen

All:- Our God will come to save us, Immanuel is His name.

Reading:- Philippians 3:17-21
Brethren, join in imitating me, and mark those who so live as you have an example in us. For many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you even with tears, live as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their end is destruction, their god is the belly, and they glory in their shame, with minds set on earthly things. But our commonwealth is in heaven, and from it we await a Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will change our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power which enables him even to subject all things to himself.
This is the word of the Lord

All the nations You have made
shall come and bow down before You, O Lord,
and shall glorify your name.

For You are great and do wondrous things,
You alone are God.

Teach me your way, O Lord,
that I may walk in your truth;
unite my heart to fear your name.

I give thanks to You, O Lord my God,
with my whole heart,
and I will glorify your name for ever.

For great is your steadfast love toward me;
You have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol

O God, insolent men have risen up against me;
a band of ruthless men seek my life,
and they do not set You before them.

But You, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.

Turn to me and take pity on me;
give your strength to your servant,
and save the son of your handmaid.

Let us then cast off the works of darkness and put on the armour of light; let us conduct ourselves becomingly as in the day, not in revelling and drunkenness, not in debauchery and licentiousness, not in quarrelling and jealousy. Psalm 8

Cel.:- O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
(Psalm is recited in two groups)
You whose glory above the heavens is chanted
by the mouth of babes and infants,
You have founded a bulwark because of your foes,
to still the enemy and the avenger.

When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars which You have established;
what is man that You are mindful of him,
and the son of man that You care for him?

Yet You have made him little less than God,
and crown him with glory and honour.

You have given him dominion over the works of your hands;
You have put all things under his feet,
all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field,
the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea,
whatever passes along the paths of the sea.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit

As it was in the beginning is now
and every shall be world without end. Amen

O Lord, who shall sojourn in your tent?

He who walks blamelessly, and does what is right,
and speaks truth from his heart;

who does not slander with his tongue,
and does no evil to his friend,

nor takes up a reproach against his neighbour;
in whose eyes a reprobate is despised,

but who honours those who fear the Lord;
who swears to his own hurt and does not change;

who does not put out his money at interest,
and does not take a bribe against the innocent.
He who does these things shall never be moved.

Psalm 130

Cel.:-Behold the Saviour of the world comes; he will grant you his peace.
(Psalm is recited in two groups)

Out of the depths I cry to You, O Lord!
Lord, hear my voice!
Let your ears be attentive
to the voice of my supplications!

If You, O Lord, should mark iniquities,
Lord, who could stand?
But there is forgiveness with You,
that You may be feared.

I wait for the Lord, my soul waits,
and in his word I hope;
my soul waits for the Lord
more than watchmen for the morning,
more than watchmen for the morning.

O Israel, hope in the Lord!
For with the Lord there is steadfast love,
and with him is plenteous redemption.
And he will redeem Israel
from all his iniquities.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit

As it was in the beginning is now
and every shall be world without end. Amen

All:-Behold the Saviour of the world comes; he will grant you his peace.

Reading:- Isaiah.11:1-9
There shall come forth a shoot from the stump of Jesse, and a branch shall grow out of his roots. And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord. And his delight shall be in the fear of the Lord. He shall not judge by what his eyes see, or decide by what his ears hear; but with righteousness he shall judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the earth; and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he shall slay the wicked. Righteousness shall be the girdle of his waist, and faithfulness the girdle of his loins. The wolf shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid, and the calf and the lion and the fatling together, and a little child shall lead them. The cow and the bear shall feed; their young shall lie down together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. The sucking child shall play over the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the adder's den. They shall not hurt or destroy in all my holy mountain; for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.

Psalm 143

Cel.:-Seek the Lord with a heart that is pure, for He is near.
(Psalm is recited in two groups)

Hear my prayer, O Lord; give ear to my supplications
In your faithfulness answer me, in your righteousness!

Enter not into judgment with your servant;
for no man living is righteous before You.

For the enemy has pursued me;
he has crushed my life to the ground;
he has made me sit in darkness like those long dead.

Therefore my spirit faints within me;
my heart within me is appalled.

I remember the days of old,
I meditate on all that You have done;
I muse on what your hands have wrought.

I stretch out my hands to You;
my soul thirsts for You like a parched land.

Make have e to answer me, O Lord!
My spirit fails! Hide not your face from me,
lest I be like those who go down to the Pit.

Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love,
for in You I put my trust.
Teach me the way I should go,
for to You I lift up my soul.

Deliver me, O Lord, from my enemies!
I have fled to You for refuge!

Teach me to do your will,
for You are my God!
Let your good spirit lead me on a level path!

For your name's sake, O Lord, preserve my life!
In your righteousness bring me out of trouble!

Glory be to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit

As it was in the beginning is now
and every shall be world without end. Amen

All:-Seek the Lord with a heart that is pure, for He is near.

Reading:- Is 40:9-11, 26-31
Get you up to a high mountain, O Zion, herald of good tidings; lift up your voice with strength, O Jerusalem, herald of good tidings, lift it up, fear not; say to the cities of Judah, "Behold your God!" Behold, the Lord GOD comes with might, and his arm rules for him; behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him. He will feed his flock like a shepherd, he will gather the lambs in his arms, he will carry them in his bosom, and gently lead those that are with young. Lift up your eyes on high and see: who created these? He who brings out their host by number, calling them all by name; by the greatness of his might, and because he is strong in power not one is missing. Why do you say, O Jacob, and speak, O Israel, "My way is hid from the Lord, and my right is disregarded by my God"? Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary, his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.

Psalm 23

Cel.:-Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, O righteous and shout for joy all you upright in heart.
(Psalm is recited in two groups)

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want;
he makes me lie down in green pastures.

He leads me beside still waters;
he restores my soul.

He leads me in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.

Even Yough I walk through the valley
of the shadow of death,
I fear no evil; for You are with me;
your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

You preparest a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
You anointest my head with oil,
my cup overflows.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life;
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit

As it was in the beginning is now
and every shall be world without end. Amen

All:-Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, O righteous and shout for joy all you upright in heart.

Reading:- Isaiah: 35:1-10
The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad, the desert shall rejoice and blossom; like the crocus it shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, the majesty of Carmel and Sharon. They shall see the glory of the Lord, the majesty of our God. Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees. Say to those who are of a fearful heart, "Be strong, fear not! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God. He will come and save you." Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf unstopped; then shall the lame man leap like a hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing for joy. For waters shall break forth in the wilderness, and streams in the desert; the burning sand shall become a pool, and the thirsty ground springs of water; the haunt of jackals shall become a swamp, the grass shall become reeds and rushes. And a highway shall be there, and it shall be called the Holy Way; the unclean shall not pass over it, and fools shall not err therein. No lion shall be there, nor shall any ravenous beast come up on it; they shall not be found there, but the redeemed shall walk there. And the ransomed of the Lord shall return, and come to Zion with singing; everlasting joy shall be upon their heads; they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away. Psalm 24

Cel.:-Blessed is the man to whom the Lord imputes no iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit.
(Psalm is recited in two groups)

The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof,
the world and those who dwell therein;

for he has founded it upon the seas,
and established it upon the rivers.

Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord?
And who shall stand in his holy place?

He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
who does not lift up his soul to what is false,
and does not swear deceitfully.

He will receive blessing from the Lord,
and vindication from the God of his salvation.

Such is the generation of those who seek him,
who seek the face of the God of Jacob.

Lift up your heads, O gates!
and be lifted up, O ancient doors
that the King of glory may come in.

Who is the King of glory?
The Lord, strong and mighty,
the Lord, mighty in battle!

Lift up your heads, O gates!
and be lifted up, O ancient doors!
that the King of glory may come in.

Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts,
he is the King of glory!

Glory be to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit

As it was in the beginning is now
and every shall be world without end. Amen

All:-Blessed is the man to whom the Lord imputes no iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit.

Reading:- Isaiah: 29:17-24
Is it not yet a very little while until Lebanon shall be turned into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field shall be regarded as a forest? In that day the deaf shall hear the words of a book, and out of their gloom and darkness the eyes of the blind shall see. The meek shall obtain fresh joy in the Lord, and the poor among men shall exult in the Holy One of Israel. For the ruthless shall come to nought and the scoffer cease, and all who watch to do evil shall be cut off, who by a word make a man out to be an offender, and lay a snare for him who reproves in the gate, and with an empty plea turn aside him who is in the right. Therefore thus says the Lord, who redeemed Abraham, concerning the house of Jacob: "Jacob shall no more be ashamed, no more shall his face grow pale. For when he sees his children, the work of my hands, in his midst, they will sanctify my name; they will sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and will stand in awe of the God of Israel. And those who err in spirit will come to understanding, and those who murmur will accept instruction."

Psalm 34:1-11

Cel.:-Behold the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast Love.
(Psalm is recited in two groups)

I will bless the Lord at all times;
his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

My soul makes its boast in the Lord;
let the afflicted hear and be glad.

O magnify the Lord with me,
and let us exalt his name together!

I sought the Lord, and he answered me,
and delivered me from all my fears.

Look to him, and be radiant;
so your faces shall never be ashamed.

This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him,
and saved him out of all his troubles.

The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him,
and delivers them.

O taste and see that the Lord is good!
Happy is the man who takes refuge in him!

O fear the Lord, you his saints,
for those who fear him have no want!

The young lions suffer want and hunger;
but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.

Come, O sons, listen to me,
I will teach you the fear of the Lord.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit

As it was in the beginning is now

All:-Behold the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast Love.

Reading:- Luke 3:3-17
And he went into all the region about the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. As it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, "The voice of one crying in the wilderness: Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low, and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth; and all flesh shall see the salvation of God." He said therefore to the multitudes that came out to be baptized by him, "You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Bear fruits that befit repentance, and do not begin to say to yourselves, `We have Abraham as Our Father'; for I tell you, God is able from these stones to raise up children to Abraham. Even now the axe is laid to the root of the trees; every tree therefore that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire." And the multitudes asked him, "What then shall we do?" And he answered them, "He who has two coats, let him share with him who has none; and he who has food, let him do likewise." Tax collectors also came to be baptized, and said to him, "Teacher, what shall we do?" And he said to them, "Collect no more than is appointed you." Soldiers also asked him, "And we, what shall we do?" And he said to them, "Rob no one by violence or by false accusation, and be content with your wages." As the people were in expectation, and all men questioned in their hearts concerning John, whether perhaps he were the Christ, John answered them all, "I baptize you with water; but he who is mightier than I is coming, the thong of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie; he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire. His winnowing fork is in his hand, to clear his threshing floor, and to gather the wheat into his granary, but the chaff he will burn with unquenchable fire." This is the word of the Lord
