-✍फादर कपिल देव (ग्वालियर धर्मप्रान्त)Dear brothers and sisters, today’s Gospel teaches us one of the most important lessons of Christian life: we must always pray and never lose heart. Jesus presents before us the example of a widow who repeatedly approaches a judge asking for justice. She does not give up even when the answer is delayed. Through this parable, Jesus teaches us about perseverance in prayer. Many times we pray sincerely, but when our prayer is not answered immediately, we become discouraged. We may pray for healing, peace in our family, success in our work, guidance for our future or help in a difficult situation. When nothing seems to change, we may begin to think that God is not listening. But today’s Gospel reminds us that God’s silence does not mean God’s absence. God hears every sincere prayer, even when His answer is different from what we expect. Prayer does not mean forcing God to do what we want. Prayer means placing our lives into His hands and trusting His wisdom and timing. Sometimes God changes the situation; sometimes He changes us through the situation. Therefore, we should never stop praying. Bring your worries to God, bring your family to Him, bring your pain and your dreams to Him. Even when you cannot see the answer, continue to trust. A faithful person is not someone who never experiences difficulties, but someone who continues to believe in God in the middle of difficulties. May our prayers become stronger, our faith deeper and our trust more complete.

मरिया (ग्वालियर धर्मप्रान्त)We know that God takes care of every need we have. He is aware of our circumstances and requirements, but the Lord wants us to ask Him directly, because He has promised— “ask, and it will be given to you”. However, sometimes what we ask for doesn’t seem to be granted. This does not mean that the Lord isn’t listening to our prayers; rather, it means that we need to grow stronger and deeper in our faith. The Lord tells us not to be discouraged in prayer, thinking that our requests are not being heard. The example of the persistent widow is there for us—she does not lose heart. The Lord is always eager to hear and grant our prayers.

Lord Jesus lived a prayerful life in this world and through his life he gave prime importance to prayer. In today’s gospel Lord Jesus says, ‘we need to pray always and not to lose heart.’ In order to explain this Lord Jesus tells the parable of a widow who continuously kept coming to unjust judge for the justice against her opponent and last she received the justice.
In this parable Lord Jesus differentiates between merciful God and unjust judge, where the unjust judge takes time to give justice to the widow whereas Almighty God quickly grant justice to his chosen ones who cry to him day and night.
This parable teaches to go to God always like that of the widow who went to the judge again and again. Perhaps the widow did not have any other option because at those times the condition of the widows was very worse. When some problems come to our lives or some happiness comes to our lives, to whom do we go first? Perhaps we may be going to God at last as the last option, but we have to make ourselves dependent only on God, we have to empty ourselves before God like that of the widow even if we have everything.
Some prayers God answers quickly but for some prayers it may take time. In those times we should not lose heart but should keep our faith alive because in the house of God there may be delay but no darkness which means to say there may be delay but the blessing is sure. And this faith we should keep alive till the Son of Man comes. Let’s grow in praying always and keep our faith alive. Amen
